I posted this at T&S, so I thought I'd post it here, too, so I don't lose it.
Cold kisses
thy
flaming arms,
silhouetting
the sky
with the iced pleas
of Lethe’s forgotten.
Soon shalt thou
shed
thy glory.
Crimson litter
to grace
the earth below
with thy faded life.
A final
blaze
before sleep.
A gift of life
laid down
only to be
taken up again.
Beneath my
feet
thy ending
whispers to me
of hope,
and speaks to me
of beginnings.
Did you write this? I absolutely love it!
ReplyDeleteI saw the poem there and was happy when I saw, "Silver Rain." That reminded me to come here today.
ReplyDeleteSilver Rain, I can't remember if I invited you to check out an independent learning forum that my friend "Confutus" recently started. He has had his web site for some time though where he coordinates different subjects. With you science background and love of literature, I think you would be a fun addition. I seem to have started a lot of the threads there, but I would sure welcome others to start threads. :) I go by Abby76 as I really like Abigail Adams. Check it out if you like. I don't think that you have to register to participate. It is at http://www.sapiencekb.com/forum
ReplyDeleteBiV - Yes, I wrote it. Thank you. I write poetry so rarely any more. Once, I churned out a poem a week.
ReplyDeleteThankfully, for poemkind, I've slowed it down a bit.
Barb - Thanks! I'll check it out.
