Lift Another's Burdens

This is especially to you, M&M, because you are one of my angels who I know will eventually read this.

Mosiah 18:9: Yea, and are willing to mourn with those that mourn; yea, and comfort those that stand in need of comfort, and to stand as witnesses of God at all times and in all things, and in all places that ye may be in, even until death, that ye may be redeemed of God, and be numbered with those of the first resurrection, that ye may have eternal life—

I'm going through a rough time right now, rougher than I ever anticipated. Most of the time, I'm doing alright. Every now and then it all overwhelms me and I feel like I can't bear any more, that my heart can't break any further. Every time this has happened, the Lord has sent one of His servants to me, sometimes the Spirit and more often one of his mortal disciples. I am so humbled by the service these few souls have given me. I couldn't make it without you. Thank you for living your covenants. Thank you for reaching out to me.

I hope the Lord blesses you for your service. For me, there is no price I could pay great enough.

  1. Thank you for this post, SilverRain. I'm sure many of those (like me) who are inspired by your blog are praying for you, even though we may only know you via your presence on the Internet.

I recently spoke to a friend who is dying of cancer, and she said how much she appreciated the many prayers being offered on her behalf. She felt one of the results of all those prayers was her being at peace with her situation, and being able to intensely feel the great love her Father in Heaven had for her.

Truly, blessings come to both the sufferer and the one who reaches out to "comfort those that stand in need of comfort."

  2. Thank you, Roann. I, too, can feel the prayers of others on my behalf. It is a delicate line between strength and anger, patience and avoidance, and humility and despair. I know without the love and concern of you and people like you, I would not be able to get through this.

    Again, thank you.

  3. Silver, I love you. And you know I'm here. And, like RoAnn said, people are praying for you.

Thank you, also, for your faith and dedication and love for the Savior and His gospel.

  4. Silver Rain, I am sorry to hear that you have had it tough as of late. I too believe in the power of prayer. I make up little sayings and post them under one of my penn names at a forum or two. Here is one of the saying that I made up not too long ago. "The prayers for others that you keep offering up may help keep them from giving up!"

This may seem a little personal as we only know each other from the blog world. I do think that I read a blog by you under a different name where you told what you went through in Young Women when a friend told a lie about you. YOu were strong and stubborn and would not back down in being active. I do want to say that if someone were to say something mean to you now or in the future or going back in the past that I hurt for you. I feel like saying this and hope it is okay, "I love you!"--Barb
